Luke 19:37-40 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
KJV
“The stones would immediately cry out.” It is an amazing thought to me that even stones which are dead could have more sense than those who wanted the multitude to hold their peace. Jesus Christ is Almighty God and is worthy of praise and honor. Jesus Christ is king of Kings and lord of Lords and is worthy of praise and honor and when those who know who He is will not give Him that which He is worthy of it places them below even dead stones. The Pharisees knew who Jesus was and denied Him and they have and continue to answer for that. Their eternal dwelling place is the lake of Fire. The disciples also knew who Jesus was and they received and proclaimed Him as not only the Messiah but their savior as well. They have been rewarded for that and continue to be reward in heaven. One has a place above the stones, the other a place beneath the stones. Where is your place today? Are you going to be found beneath the stones? Are you going to be found above the stones? What have you done with Jesus in your life? Or do you try and stand someplace in the middle? But notice our text once again and see that even those dumb stones would make a decision and raise their voices for Jesus Christ. Make a decision for Jesus Christ today, don’t leave it for the stones.
