1 Cor 10:12-14 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
KJV
Is my way of escape from the troubles and temptations of life, the trials and problems of life, the worries of this life to be made free from all of them? We know that is not the case because Jesus said this to His disciples in the upper room just before the cross “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” I can’t expect to live in this world free from all troubles and trials. “In the world ye shall have tribulation”. What I can expect as my way of escape is one who will stand beside me and carry me through. I know there is one who is faithful and because He is my savior, my Lord and my king, He will carry me through. The very reason we can bear the things of this life that are thrust upon us at times is that He is bearing us up in His capable arms. As I read the above verses I am taken back to a verse in the Old Testament. (Deut 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.) When we allow ourselves to rest in His arms we have found a way of escape. Many of the troubles I prayed about on Monday are still here on Wednesday but there is one holding me up in His arms and that is a proper escape.
