Ps 91:14-16 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
KJV
Great promises that we need for today are set before is in the last three verses of this Psalm and they begin with our love for our heavenly Father. Do you love God today, do you love Jesus today, do you love your heavenly Father? Before you answer yes consider what this Hebrew word translated love means. The word means to long for, to have a desire for, to delight in and take pleasure in. Do you love Jesus today? If that answer is yes then you are going to spend some time with Him today, you will long for that time and desire it. You will at some point put everything else aside and pick up His Word and read it as you allow Him to speak to you. You will set everything else aside and talk to Him in prayer. I often talk to and spend time with those I love. If I love Jesus I will spend time with Him today. If I love Him I will delight in that time. Reading His Word will not be boring to me, prayer will not be a burden, they will be my delight. I remember before we were married how happy it would make me to see my future wife especially of we had not talked for a few days or a week. Only a few times have we been apart in the last forty two years and then only for a week or ten days, but how happy we were to see one another again. That should be true of my time with Jesus if I love Him. I want to look at the promises in these verses this week and it all begins with the one who loves Jesus. Take the test today by applying the meaning of the Hebrew word for love used here. Do you love Him and if that answer is no then begin to love Him today as you should and as you need to.
