And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord.
And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.

Another passage where the phrase “Hath said” appears is in Exodus 24. Here the children of Israel state their intentions to do “All that the Lord hath said”. (Verse 7) It was their stated desire to be obedient to the Lord. We know by the record of the Bible that they did not keep that promise, that they fell short. I wish not to focus on their failure this morning but on their intentions instead. God had to be pleased with what they wanted to do, what they tried to do. I wonder if God is pleased with my desires this morning, with my intentions? They should be the same as the children of Israel “All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.” I should daily substitute I for all in that verse. I will of course fail many times over as Israel did, but what is my desire today? So many today who claim to know Jesus Christ as their savior seem to intent on disobeying Him and His Word. They seem to have chosen a decided path of disobedience and one where they will ignore what the Bible says. None of us are perfect, especially this preacher, but we need at least to determine and desire to obey the Lord. What is your desire as you begin this day? Is God pleased with you and your intentions this morning. Lets not look at what the results may or may not be, lets focus on our intentions as we begin this day.
