Ps 91:1-3 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
KJV
Yesterday we spoke of snares that Satan may place in front of us to trap us and some of them on paths we often take. What might they be? Some examples from the Bible. Satan placed a snare of weariness before Moses as that man of God was weary with the people as they complained about no water and struck the rock instead of speaking to it as God commanded. Moses had faced this before. Satan placed a snare of self reliance before Joshua as he did not need to seek God before going to battle against that small city of Ai. Joshua had victory in battle before. Satan placed a snare of pride before King Saul as David seemed to get more honor than he did even though David did something the king should have done himself. Saul was honored. Satan placed a snare of fear before Peter as he denied knowing Jesus just a short time after defending Jesus. Satan placed a snare of worldly things before Demas and he stopped serving the Lord after he had turned away from the world and was assisting Paul. All of those men were walking a path they were familiar with and stepped into a snare of Satan. Just because we are familiar with the path we are on does not mean it is free from all danger. What might Satan place before you in your workplace, in your family, even in the church house? While that question cannot be answered in this devotional a warning can be given. (1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:)
