Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Many right now are rushing to purchase last minute Christmas gifts. It is as if the holiday has surprised them even though they know it has been coming for three hundred and sixty five days. They waited until the very last moment and now they can’t find the gift they need. There is another much more important gift that so many put off over and over again and most of them until it is to late, the gift of salvation. God has given us a wonderful gift, a precious gift, an important gift, the gift of Jesus Christ. Christ was born a baby into this world, born of a virgin, and born to die on a cross shedding His blood so that we might receive the gift of eternal life. Christmas celebrates His birth but it is the cross that brings us the gift, but one must receive that gift and only a certain amount of time is allotted for one to receive the gift of God. Why do people put off that gift until it is too late, until they die and then find out they missed the most important gift in the world? To miss the gift of salvation, the gift of God, is to spend eternity in hell. We know today that one day we will die just as we know Christmas is coming so don’t put off getting that most important gift of all, don’t put off receiving Jesus Christ as your savior today.
