November 24th, 2021 by Pastor SolleyHeb 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
KJV
Many years ago I was talking with an individual who is now gone from this world and they told me as our Thanksgiving holiday was approaching that they has nothing at all to be thankful for. I was much younger at the time, young in the ministry, a young family man, and as I listened to that individual I became very troubled by the fact that the circumstances of life can often cloud our vision and that we might lose sight of the blessings of God that we need to be thankful for each day. The Bible says that we are to “Offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually”. So from that time to this I try and focus on the things I have to be thankful for each day. Thankful for a Savior, thankful for sin forgiven, thankful for a mansion being prepared in heaven, thankful for a Christian wife, thankful for children who know Jesus as their savior, thankful for grandchildren, thankful for a Bible believing church and loving church family, thankful for being able to give thanks, thankful for the ministry, and on and on I could go this morning. There are trials to deal with in this life, losses of loved ones to death, sickness, illness, and so many more could be named. But when we stop to really count our blessings and count the things we have to be thankful for they far outweigh everything else. “Offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually”.
