Rom 8:1-6 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
KJV
I certainly do not think that a Christian should bury his or her head in the sand to the things that are taking place today. I listened to reports coming out of the current administration as to why we should pay people illegally in our country hundreds of thousands of our tax money when millions more Americans are struggling. I listened as plans are made to shut down another oil and gas pipeline at the same time fuel prices are rising and gas and oil may be rationed. I listened to why we may not have Christmas this year because of a supply chain problem that is being blamed on people that have been put out of work or paid not to work. Now I even hear why Thanksgiving is a white privilege holiday that should be abolished. We need to be aware of these things and sound a warning. But to look only at them leads to a deep and dark depression and we need to have something else to look at. How about being more spiritually minded? How about being more interested in doing something for the Lord instead of focusing on what government is doing to us? How about trusting in the Lord and resting in the Lord? Those are more important things that we need focus on today. Our time may be short in this world so let us look to the more important things, the more uplifting things.
