As I was listening yesterday to messages being brought at our Bible conference it occurred to me how many different voices there are to listen to today. We have the voice of government telling us that they will build back better and all the while they are visibly destroying our nation. We have the voice of medical science telling us they have our best interest at heart and at the same time refusing to treat people who do not bow to unconstitutional mandates unlawfully imposed. We see open borders with unaccounted for people crossing by the thousands each day and hear that all will be good and productive citizens. Then we have internet churches and internet preachers when there is no such church or preacher found in the Bible. So many voices. But there is one voice we can listen to and the message from that voice does not change. It is the voice of God given to us through the Word of God. Four different messages yesterday by four different preachers and they all had one thing in common, all came from the Word of God. Peter when he said “Hearken unto my words” was giving the people the Word of the Lord and that is the voice they needed to listen to. Today it is still the only voice we need listen to. But how many have by choice turned up the voices of those that tell one lie after another and serve self more than anyone or any thing else. No wonder today that faith is so lacking in so many professing Christians as they listen to the wrong voices and stay away from the church house, when they hide in fear instead of standing boldly for the Lord. What we need to do today is what Peter urged the people at that time to do, hearken unto the voice of the Lord.
