Ps 118:23-24 This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
KJV
We know that the Bible is true from beginning to end, all of the Word of God is true. As the choirs goes, every chapter, every verse, every line. How then can we be found rejoicing today? Verse twenty four above tells us that we are to be rejoicing today, rejoicing in our day. This day I will visit some who are in hospitals, some who are in nursing homes, some who are on hospice. We have the nation wide problems of a government our of control, our rights and freedoms being taken away, inflation about to take off as we have never witnessed before, a health system refusing to treat the sick, crime skyrocketing and on and on I could go. What is there to rejoice about, how can one rejoice today? There are several things in Psalm 118 that if followed will allow us to rejoice today. The first is standing on a sure foundation provided by God. (Ps 118:22
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.) That foundation is Jesus Christ and Him alone. Be sure you are standing firm and sure on a solid foundation. If you are born again this morning, if you have repented of sin and trusted Jesus for forgiveness and salvation you have something to rejoice about. Rejoice because that corner stone will never crumble. Rejoice in the truth of His Word for His Word is always true. Rejoice in His eternal care for you for He will never leave or forsake His own. Rejoice in our sure foundation. Thee are many more things in this Psalm that will cause us to rejoice even in this day. More tomorrow.
