Mark 2:1-5 And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
KJV
How much of an effort do you make to bring others to Jesus? Here we find Jesus in a home and many are gathered there listening to Jesus speak. As the news spreads the family of one who could not walk decides to bring that one to Christ. Notice that they had to carry him. Then as they arrive at the home they could not get near Jesus so they carry him to the roof top, break up the roof, find some ropes and attach them to bed he was carried on. Then they had to balance the man and gently lower him into the room where Jesus was. My point is that it took a great effort to bring that man to Jesus and that effort was rewarded with the man being born again. (His sins were forgiven.) What is the effort we will make today to bring one to Jesus Christ? It does not demand that much effort to hand out a gospel tract, to invite someone to Church, to share a testimony of salvation and to share the gospel message. Those things hardly require any effort at all, but how few are willing to do those simple things. What if we had to pick up and carry one through the streets to get them to Jesus? What of we had to carry then to a roof top? What if we had to tear up that roof and lower them with ropes to Jesus? Would we be willing to do that? If we are not willing to do the easy things I am sure we would not do the harder things. What are we willing to do to being one to Jesus?
