Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
KJV
This is the last time the word labor or labors is found in the Bible and it is time for those who have died in the Lord to rest, rest in heaven with Christ. On this Labor Day here in America, a day to rest and honor the American worker, I want to look for a better rest that is coming, a rest in the Lord. When one leaves this world it will be to an eternal rest or an eternal damnation where there will be no rest and the difference is the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus did a great work, labored, so man could have that eternal rest in and with Him. The cross was a work, a work of salvation, a work of forgiveness, a work that can bring eternal life and salvation in Jesus Christ, it is a free gift offered to all men. But we must do our part as well. Our part is to see and acknowledge that we are sinners unworthy of life in heaven. Our part is to confess that sin to God and repent or turn away from sin. Our part is then to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our savior and ask for Him and Him alone to forgive and save us from sin and hell. Our part is to rest from labor and trust in Jesus Christ to save us. Have you done your part? Jesus did His so we could rest from our labor, rest in Him.
