Daily Devotion

Matt 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

On Monday we will celebrate Labor Day here is America, a day set aside to honor the American worker. It is good to set a time aside to rest from labor, to rest from hard work. But back to work we will go on Tuesday, back to the grind, back to jobs, back to factories, back to trucks, back to work. Yet there is one who offers us eternal peace and rest from our labor, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus beckons all to come unto Him, all who Labor and are heavy laden, all who need to set down burdens and find peace and rest to come unto Him. But when one comes to Jesus Christ that rest is not for a day, it is for eternity. What rest are you looking for today? Rest from physical labor? Then Monday is your day. But if it is rest from the burden of sin, the weight of worry and fear, then you need to come to Jesus today and do not delay. Jesus can take the burden you carry, Jesus can give rest, Jesus can give peace. This all begins when one repents of sin and turns to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and eternal life. This continues as we the learn to lay every burden we have at His feet and rest in Him. Labor Day is approaching but we can be free of our heavy burdens today if we give them all to Jesus.
