14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Did you know we need time from time to time to just stand still? We are to be active for the Lord, we are to be found serving the Lord, but we still need time from time to time to just stand still. Even Jesus took the disciples into the wilderness for a time to stand still and rest.
(Mark 6:31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.) I seem to function better when I have much to do, when I am busy. But there are times we just need to stand still. But those are not to be just idle times as well. Notice in our text that while Israel stood still they were to be also looking to the Lord, looking for the things God was doing and going to so. I imagine that even in the desert place the disciples were found talking to Jesus, looking to Jesus. It is important that we find time to stand still from time to time. But use that time wisely as well as we look to the Lord for refreshing, communion, and guidance.
