Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

What a wonderful thing to be known of God, to realize that God knows us, all about us. Jeremiah found out what a wonderful thing it is in the first chapter of that prophetic book, that God knew him before he was ever born. What a wonderful thing to be known of God. That becomes even more of a blessing when we know Him, when we know God because we have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. What a wonderful thing to be born again and know God. God’s knowledge of man is not limited to those who are saved, to those who are born again. God knows each and everyone in the same way God knew David in Psalm 139, in the same way God knew Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1. God knows even the lost in the very same way. But those who are lost in sin, those separated from God by the sin nature they are born with, never have knowledge of the truth that God knows them until they stand before Him in judgement and then it is too late. But when one knows God because they are saved it becomes such a wonderful relationship. To know that God knows us. That means today nothing will come into my life that God does not know all about. Nothing will come into my life that God cannot be my strength and get me through. Nothing can come into my life that God does not understand. No wonder David stated that such knowledge was too wonderful for him. What a blessing to be able to know that God knows us.
