June 8th, 2021 by Pastor SolleyJohn 3:1-7 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

This preacher celebrates a birthday today if one can still call birthdays a celebration day at my age and I have a great deal to be thankful for. Christian parents who carried me to church and made sure I was trained to be in church. Salvation in Jesus Christ at the age of ten. A blessed childhood with everything we needed if not everything I wanted. A spiritual childhood as well with Godly examples in parents and grandparents who loved Jesus. Being taught how to work. Years of church camp and good friends made. Then a helpmeet sent from God to my heart. A call into the ministry, children and now grandchildren. I have a lot to be thankful but nothing approaches the day I was born again. Jesus said in John 3:7 “Marvel not” but I do marvel at salvation. Why does He love me? How could He give His life for mine? Why does He even care about me at all? Why does He take such good care of me when I often forget to thank Him? Why answer my prayers or even listen to them? I could go on like this for pages but I just want to thank Jesus today, not for a physical birthday, but for a spiritual birthday, thank Him that He saved me.
