KJV
The phrase be strong is found only three times in the New Testament, thirty three in the Old Testament. The first time it is used in the Bible has reference to the enemies of God and their strength. The last time it is used has reference to the grace that is in Jesus Christ. Where can we find the strength to face the enemies we have, the enemies of God, the enemies of our faith? There was a time when I was strong physically. I lifted weights, I ran, I was in very good shape physically. But that time has passed and even at that time physical strength could not defeat the enemy. I have been somewhat educated, went to Bible School but that education cannot defeat the enemy. I have gained at least a little wisdom over the years, but that wisdom cannot defeat the enemy. We are helpless apart from the grace of Jesus Christ and His power against the enemies of our day. Be strong in His grace. What are you facing today? God knows, Jesus knows, and He will provide the grace to be strong today. Depend upon anything else, anyone else, and we will find ourselves falling in the spiritual battle we are in. But His grace is sufficient. Paul found that to be true, Peter found it to be true, John found it to be true and so will you and I when we depend upon Jesus. Be strong in His grace today.
