May 13th, 2021 by Pastor SolleyPs 63 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

This little Psalm is serving as our memory verses for May at Cherry Corner and most likely will be used in June as well because we have had so much illness in May in our little church. We certainly seem to be in a dry and thirsty land today. Is there any water for America today? We are fast returning to a great recession and then perhaps another great depression. The liberal governments cure is to borrow more and more money as more and more jobs are lost. I listen to representatives of our current President claim there is no gas shortage the other day while at the same time pictures were posted of closed gas stations. Where can we look for encouragement? The answer is in this Psalm. Only the loving kindness of our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is better than life and we need look to Him. I have been able to spend some time in thought the past several nights, as it says in verse six, and my thoughts have been of how wonderful things will be in heaven. The Lord is my help right now and He makes life sweet, but how much better it will be in haven.
