19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
KJV
The word precious is found 76 times in the Bible, the first in Genesis and the last in Revelation. None carry the weight of the use of the word precious in verse nineteen above, the precious blood of Christ. Why is the blood of Jesus so precious? Because of what it does. First, by His shed blood and His shed blood alone we have salvation. (Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;) Second, through His shed blood we have our justification. (Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.) Third, we are cleansed by His blood. (1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.) Fourth, we have peace with God through His blood. (Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.) Fifth, we are sanctified by His blood. (Heb 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.) Sixth, we are brought near to Christ by His blood. (Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.) Seventh, we have victory by His blood. (Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.) What precious blood.
