9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

Seeing is believing. John and the other disciples had heard from Jesus Himself that He would arise from the grave. They would have been familiar with the Old Testament passages pointing to the resurrection of Jesus as well. But the Bible says “They knew not the scripture”. They had not yet seen or experienced the event, they had not seen. Seeing is believing. There are many things in our Christian life that we can relate to the above passage. Prayer is an example. Every born again child of God reading this believes in prayer. But when we see prayers answered in our lives we then are more given to prayer. We all believe in the leading of the Holy Spirit as well. But when we turn our lives completely over to the Lord, seek and follow His will, we then know of the leading and power of the Spirit of God in our lives. Seeing is believing. We believe without seeing of course and that is faith but faith is made stronger when we see. Seeing is believing. Others then to see these things in us who profess to know Jesus as our savior. They need to see one given to prayer and hear of prayers answered in our lives. They need to see one yielded to the Holy Spirit and hear of how the Lord is leading in our lives. Remember seeing is believing. Can others see Jesus in you and see in you a life given to Jesus Christ?
