February 9th, 2021 by Pastor SolleyGen 3:1-7 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

The reason we all need to be concerned about being acceptable to God is sin. If you still have the BIG game in mind it can be said that we were on the same team with God in the beginning, that man was created perfect and without sin as recorded in Genesis chapters one and two. Adam and Eve were acceptable to God because God made them perfect, put them on His team. How long that relationship lasted we do not know but in Genesis chapter three sin was found as man disobeyed God. The type of fruit that grew on that tree is not important, how much they ate is not important, that they disobeyed God is the important thing. They committed a penalty. That act allowed sin to enter into their heart, their mind, their actions and the world. That sin separated them from God. That very same sin nature has been passed on to every man, woman, and child born into this world. (Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:) That sin nature that we all are born with make us unacceptable to God, puts us on another team, and there is nothing we can do about that fact. If you don’t think that is true look back over the past few days and count your impure thoughts, sinful desires, sinful actions, words you have said, things you have looked at and so on. Our lives paint a picture of sin. Sin separates us from God, puts us on the losing team. How can that be changed? God has a way and we will look at that tomorrow.
