Mark 9:1-3 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
KJV
To hear the last trump sound, to see Jesus coming and to meet Him in the air would be a most wonderful thing. Most believe we are very close to the end of this present dispensation and to see Jesus coming with power and authority would be a most wonderful thing. But there is something even more wonderful found in our text verses this morning. To experience the power of God in our lives day by day, to walk in the light of His Word day by day, to seek His will for our lives day by day, and to look upon Jesus day by day is even a more wonderful thing. The only way this is possible for the believer in Christ today is to follow what we find in verse two above. Notice Jesus was leading them. Let that sink in for a moment, Jesus was leading them and they followed. Jesus did not always lead them to a mountain top but Jesus was leading them. Jesus did lead them onto troubled seas and the like, Jesus did not always lead them to a mountain top, but Jesus was leading them. Is Jesus leading you today? In the dark valley, on the troubled sea, is Jesus leading you? To the mountain top, is Jesus leading you? When you can say yes to that you will find yourself in a most wonderful place no matter where Jesus is leading you.
