January 12th, 2021 by Pastor SolleyHab 3:1-2 A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.
2 O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
KJV
Yesterday we looked at the first use of the word revive in the Bible, today the last use of the word revive. The prophet was afraid after he heard from the Lord. Why? Because God’s message to the prophets more often than not was a message of judgment. The prophet is at once driven to his knees and to prayer. “Revive thy word in the midst of the years” was his prayer. We need to be on our knees praying for the very same thing today. In a day when Satan seems to have the upper hand we need to pray for revival. But who needs revival? Our nation, our churches, our families all need revival. But for that revival to come it must first come in us, we need revival. Most reading this will acknowledge it is true and at the same time few reading this will pray for revival. Why? Because revival will cost us something. Revival will cost us time, it will demand we change, and it comes only when we are given to the Lord Jesus Christ. We need revival today but are we willing to pray for it to come?
