2 Chron 25:9 And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The Lord is able to give thee much more than this.

The Christian is called to give up much for the Lord. That is a simple fact. Give up the desires of the flesh, give up the world, give up self, give up much for the Lord. But along with that one should consider what is gained. Above we find a man wondering about what he was called to give up being reminded of what he would gain. We are called to give up much and some consider that a very high cost. But then you stop and look at what we are gaining when we have Jesus Christ and you see that cost going down. Add to that the fact that what we gain in Christ is far better than what we give up and the cost continues to go down. Remember this dear brother or sister, Christ is able to give us much more than we are called to give up.
