20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

This preacher must admit that he has a hard time giving thanks for all things unto God. Not for the good things or the things that I can see purpose in, but in all things. I have yet to thank God for our recent election. But the Bible does say all things. I have yet to thank God for the virus. But the Bible does say all things. What I need to fully understand is that God has plan and purpose in everything including this world, this nation, and even my insignificant life. If God has plan and purpose which He does, if God does all things well which He does, then I should be able to give thanks for all things. Notice verse 19 above and one can see that if one puts themselves in the spirit of thanksgiving through songs and hymns it will be easier to give thanks for all things. I have an easier time giving thanks when I have been singing praises unto my God even when I am the only one that can hear them.
