2 Tim 2:10-12 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
KJV
For the most part one can take the word “If” out of verse twelve. No I am not saying we should change the Word of God. God’s Word is perfect and says exactly what God wants it to say. But we all will suffer in this world in one way or another. If not persecution as Paul did then sorrow and physical suffering in one way or another as Paul also endured. I prayed with one who means a great deal to me yesterday afternoon in a hospital room and have been thinking of all this young man has endured in his life and most especially the physical suffering he is going through. Prayers for this saved man are going up to God without ceasing yet the suffering and pain continues. Why? I don’t know. What I do know is that Jesus will never deny him, Jesus has not left him, and Jesus does all things well. Endure the sufferings of this life faithfully dear one no matter what they may be because one day you will live with Him.
