18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

Why not take all things to Jesus all the time? I ask that question of you as a pastor but I also ask it of myself as a Christian. Why do we so often try and take matters into our own hands and turn to Jesus only as a last resort? That is often why we struggle so much in our walk with the Lord. Take temptation for example. There are things we know we should turn away from and we may try, but where do we turn to? Each time we turn away from something we are turning to something as well. So let us say a program comes on the TV or something on the smart phone or PC that we know we should not look at. Where do we turn when we try and turn away? Often we turn to the very same thing. We turn the channel on the Tv but we do not turn off the TV. We look away from the ad on the PC but we do not turn away from the PC. We say the smart phone is not always good for us but we never take it out of our hand. We would be better off turning away from those things and to Jesus, not back to the very thing we know is wrong. Why not bring all things to Jesus to begin with?
