James 5:17-18 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
KJV
How refreshing to see the rain coming down. I was talking with a man yesterday who lives in Williamsport and he remarked how good a summer it has been. His reasoning was that there was finally a summer with no rain after the past few years. I began to think of just how much we need and have needed rain and it reminded me that not everyone can see the need right in front of them. I did not have the opportunity to witness to the man concerning the gospel but it still stuck with me how blind people can be to an urgent need. If we do not get some rain and there is little snow we will be in trouble next summer. If people can’t see the need for salvation now with the condition this world is in they are going to be in real trouble soon. I am sure that there are things I miss as well just like that man is missing our need of rain. But how thankful we should be for those who have seen the need for salvation. Have you see that need?
