Heaven is a wonderful place and above is the last mention of the word heaven in the Bible. My mind drifts to heaven this morning and for good reason. Last evening I was able to listen as a ninety eight year old gentleman asked Jesus to forgive him of his sin and save him. This man is a WWII vet, flew thirty three missions in a B17 bomber, was shot down, endured a German prisoner of war camp, came home and started his own business and lived through these years trying to be the best man he could. As we talked he held up the many good works he did all trying as he said to make atonement for his sins. Last evening he finally turned that over to Jesus Christ and trusted Him for atonement and salvation. What a wonderful savior is Jesus as that man now has a heavenly home. He told me he has prayed for the last few years every evening for God not to allow him to live through the night as he is tired and worn out. Why hadn’t God answered that prayer he wondered. Now we know it was so God could first answer his prayer of repentance and receiving Jesus into his heart. Heaven is a wonderful place.
