June 12th, 2020 by Pastor SolleyJudg 6:7-10 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord because of the Midianites,
8 That the Lord sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;
9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;
10 And I said unto you, I am the Lord your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.

After the sin God sent a preacher. We don’t know much about him but these two things stand out. First, he faithfully proclaimed the Word of The Lord. His message was direct and easy to understand. The people had sinned, God was not well pleased. Second, the people still did not obey God. God’s first step is always preaching, giving man an opportunity to repent. What of our lives today and the preaching one hears? I can see all the time the faces of people in church services. Some are attentive, some will give way to God, some will obey God. But there are many more who will continue to ignore the teaching of the Word of God. They listen with their ears and not their heart. What type of listener are you? Has God convicted of sin? Will you obey His voice?
