With Father’s Day coming up I want to begin to look at Gideon and what made him a mighty man of valor and why he was so needed at that time. The reason being that we need men like Gideon today. Quite some time ago a movement began to rob men of what it takes to be a man. Hollywood has taken steps to cast a poor light upon men. Shows like “Everybody Loves Raymond” “King of Queens” and a host of others make men into stupid puppets that need wise women to get them out of trouble and provide even protection for them. Many of the new police shows have women the better shots, the first through the door facing danger, the smarter. Men are taking aback seat. In politics today we see the elevation of woman. Women mayors, governors, and all the time we hear it is time for a woman president. The speaker of the house is a woman, the most powerful representatives are women and so on. What happened to men? God is still looking for men to step up and be men. I want to look for a time, and preach for a time on this mighty man of valor.
