14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

The word memorial is found 32 times in the Bible, 29 in the Old Testament, and above is the first of those occurrences. God clearly wants His children to remember. But remember what? Study the world memorial and you will find three very important things. God wants His children to remember the good things God has done, the good things God will do, and the judgments of God against unbelief and disobedience. We have a Memorial Day coming on Monday and there are some things that are very distressing to me this year. One is that many Memorial Day observances have been canceled. Another is that our governor ordered the halt of flags to be made to place on the graves of veterans. Those brave men sacrificed, many of them their lives in combat, so we could gather and we should gather and honor them. To forget them this year in the face of a government order that has absolutely no foundation is to dishonor them and to make their death of no value. Pray for our nation at this time, for a president who loves America, and then for others in government who hate America.
