Ps 91:1-4 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
KJV
There is a well know story of a fire fighter during a raging forest fire coming upon the charred body of a bird at the base of a large tree that had been burned. As the fire fighter kicked the bird it fell away from the base of the tree and three small baby birds ran from under the charred body and wings of their dead mother. She most certainly could have flown from the flames and saved her self but her young would have perished. Instead of flying to safety she covered them and sacrificed her life. That I am told that is a true story but a greater story of love and protection is given us is Psalm 91. We stand today as born again believers in Christi sheltered under the wings of the Almighty. I am reminder had those little birds not trusted their mother and remained under her wings they would have died. How much more do we need to trust Christ and remain under His wings?
