John 11:35 Jesus wept.
KJV
Another short sentence that says more than we could ever thank Him for. Jesus wept. Think of that for a moment and who Jesus was weeping for. It was not for Lazarus for Jesus knew He would raise Him from the grave. Not for Mary or Martha for Jesus knew their sorrow would be turned for joy. Who was Jesus weeping for? For those at that grave who were lost and facing an eternity in hell. Jesus was weeping for sinners like you and me. That means Jesus was weeping for me. Now I cannot think of any thing in the Bible that touches me more than those two words, Jesus wept, when I think that He wept for me. Now I couple that with His love for Lazarus, Mary and Martha and those tears take on an even greater meaning. I wonder this morning just how many tears Jesus shed over me and that makes me love Him all the more.
