1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Who can explain the love a father, a parent has for their children? No matter what they do they are yours and there is a bond there than time or distance cannot break. A child, especially in teen years and into adulthood cannot always feel that bond. They yearn to break away from that bond, to be on their own, but a parent never finds a time when they want that bond to be broken. There is that same bond between our heavenly Father and the born again believer in Jesus Christ. We are His for time and eternity and there is a bond there greater than that of parent and child. How heartbreaking it must be to our Father in heaven that we time and again test that bond, that we wonder and stray away from Him. Yet that bond is there, never to be broken. It has been my experience that as one grows older that they once again feel that bond between themselves and their parents and they come to welcome that bond. How pleasing it must be to our heavenly Father when we feel that bond between us and Him and long for it.
