2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
KJV
This Psalm paints a very graphic picture of Jesus Christ on the cross and that is the first thing one should think of as they read this Psalm. But I would direct your attention to verses four and five this morning to make an application as to what we are seeing in our nation today. In this time of crisis in our nation for the first time people have been turned away from the Lord and away from their churches. If the problem is as real as the so called experts tell us who can help but the Lord? In our area nine people have been pointed out as sick, many of them weeks ago so that number has to be much lower now. Yet because of nine, churches have been shut down. State run liquor stores are open, you can still get your medical weed, people are packed into the WalMart, but for your safety don’t go to the house of the Lord. Is there something greater going on here? I think so. People have told me they don’t need the church house, they can worship God at home. While that is true I wonder just how many do that. Or are they at home worshiping the cell phone, the TV, social media and so on. Tell me in your mind today what they are more given to? It is time the Christian gets back to his or her roots, get back to the Lord and stop turning away from Him.
