Acts 1:9-11 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
KJV
We stand waiting today for the fulfillment of the prophecy and promise found in verse eleven. As I think of prophetic Scripture the three greatest in my mind all concerning Jesus and His coming into this world. The first being His arrival in Bethlehem. The second His arrival at the cross. The third His arrival in the clouds. Two of course are past and we as believers in Christ eagerly await the third. Is that you hope this morning, meeting Jesus in the air? My mind is always drawn to this after Easter Sunday and I wonder how long they stood looking up into the sky that day. How often do you find yourself looking up into the sky today? With the recent events of our day I find myself looking up all the more.
