Isa 53:1-4 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Why was Jesus a man acquainted with grief, why did He allow Himself to become a man of sorrows? The answer given in part yesterday is still our focus for this morning. (Heb 2:16-18
For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.) Jesus not only knows how you are feeling in your hour of need because He is all knowing, He knows because He experienced what you do and much more. I try and not tell people I know how they are feeling unless I have experienced the same. I know what it is to lose a parent, so I can tell you at that time I know how you are feeling. I know what it is to hear a doctor tell you that you have cancer, so I can tell you at that time I know how you are feeling. But there are many things you experience that I have not and I have no idea what you are feeling. Not so with Jesus, He is a merciful High Priest in all ways because He has been in all ways tempted as we are. In other words He has gone through what you are going through. Let Him bear your griefs, your sorrows, your pain, disappointment, loneliness, and all things with you because He does know how you are feeling.
