1 Chron 22:9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
KJV
This is the first time the words rest and peace appear in the Bible in the same verse, it happens only 13 times, and none of those times have anything to do with resting in peace after death. But I do see here that Solomon would have rest from all his enemies and that does remind me of the time we will have rest from our great enemy. Satan does all he can to keep an individual from getting saved and you can be sure of that. He convinces them they are not so bad as to need salvation, or they have plenty of time to make up their mind about Jesus Christ, or that they can gain heaven on their own. Satan is a great enemy and he will give a false sense of peace here and that will take one to an eternity in hell where there is never any rest. Do you have rest today? Make sure it is a rest in the Lord and not false rest or you will never have any peace.
