John 1:8-11 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
KJV
No truer words in the Bible than we see in verse eleven. How could Israel reject the Messiah? All of the Old Testament time was spent looking for and waiting on the Messiah. The anticipation grew and grew until that one was given in the exact way and in the exact place prophesied in the Old Testament and still Israel rejected their Messiah. Those words ring true today just as they did at that time. How can man miss and reject salvation in Jesus Christ? All of the Word of God points to the one and only sacrifice for sin. The Bible, our actions and a world of sin point to our need of salvation. The inner desire of all to have a relationship with God brings all to a point of decision at least one time in life. Still most ignore and reject Jesus Christ and that free gift of salvation. No truer words can be found in the Bible than those of John 1:11
