December 26th, 2019 by Pastor Solley1 Cor 15:45-47 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
KJV
Here we find the first and last Adam. What is the meaning here? The first Adam, the first man created by God, became a representative of the human race in that his sin nature acquired when he sinned by choice has been passed down to every other individual born into this world.
(Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:) That is the first Adam. The second Adam, Jesus Christ, is that because He also becomes a representative of the human race. How? By the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. When a lost sinner like me repents and gets saved, is born again, Jesus Christ becomes his or her representative. Jesus is the last Adam for no other can stand and represent everyone. Adam did it is his sin, Jesus can do it in His salvation. Why do I say Jesus can do that while Adam did it? Because all have sinned and are represented by Adam but not all will be saved and be represented by Jesus. For that to be true one needs to be born again.
