Neh 2:9-10 Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king’s letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me.
10 When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.
KJV
Outright opposition from the world is a hindrance to revival. Why would it matter to those two men that Jerusalem was restored, the temple rebuilt? That could only help matters in the region so why would it grieve them exceedingly? Because the world stands against the Christian and they don’t even understand why. Satan is the prince and power of the air and those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal savior stand against the Christian as they are influenced by Satan. Even in our nation today our government has been pushed by Satanic drive politicians to remove God from society. No more Bible reading in school, no more prayer to the true and living God, don’t witness in the workplace, no mention of Jesus even at Christmas, remove God. How has that worked in our nation? Now if you want revival expect open opposition because it will grieve the lost today even as it did in Nehemiah’s day.
