Isa 6:1-8 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

In Isaiah chapter six we find a personal revival within the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah had been a prophet for a time, had been the voice of God among the people, had been doing what God called him to do. Yet Isaiah needed revival as we all do. This revival within Isaiah involves three looks. (1) Isaiah looked at God and saw the holiness of God. The closer the prophet got to God the more he knew of God and this revealed the holiness of God. (2) Isaiah then looked within, he saw himself in light of the holiness of God. I do not know what Isaiah thought of himself before he looked at God but I know what he thought of himself after, “Woe is me”. A look at God always reveals how unworthy we are. (3) Isaiah looked out and saw the need of those around him who were dying in sin. That look at God, that look within, they made Isaiah aware of the need around him. Those are the three looks that are lacking today. Few desire to know God, to see God, to see the holiness of God. Because few see that they never see themselves as they truly are. Until we see ourselves as unworthy it will be hard to have a burden for the lost. Consider the three looks of Isaiah that took him to revival.
