Matt 6:9-13 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
KJV
We need to keep in mind when we pray as well as in all that we do that God is in heaven, God is to be reverenced. (Verse 9) The lack of reverence people have for God, Christians have for God, is appalling today. That lack of reverence can take over our prayer life as well. Look at people as they go to worship, coming in late, carrying coffee with them, getting up in the middle of the service, and so on. There are emergencies when people must leave a service but most of the time they are not in play. If that is all the more reverence one has when they meet God in public worship that will have an effect on prayer life as well. Soon one will find themselves telling God what to do, expecting God to do all that they command, praying only when they want, never thanking God for anything. Remember friend that God is in heaven, God has authority, God is the supreme one and He deserves our reverence and respect. Don’t come to God in a casual way.
