Jer 33:1-3 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
2 Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
KJV
Verse three above is a very well known verse and one many of us hold onto as believers in Christ as we should. However we should not forget the context in which it is given. Jeremiah was shut up in prison for proclaiming the Word of the Lord. The prophet had been faithful to his calling, to the point in his message and what did it get him? In this world we should never expect smooth sailing all of the time or even most of the time. That simply because of the world we live in. Yet we should never feel as if the Lord has left us down, we should never be disappointed in the Lord. Our only hope in this world is the Lord so we need always call upon Him. Remember, He will hear and He will answer.
