Ps 120 In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.
2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.
5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!
6 My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
7 I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
KJV
As Christians we dwell in an ungodly world and at times feel just as the Psalmist felt “Woe is me”. When these times overtake us we need do the same thing he did “In my distress I cried unto the Lord”. This is a psalm of degrees and I like to look at it as a psalm that is taking us higher and higher, closer and closer to the Lord. There is little to take joy in when we think of this world today, there is very little light but we are here for a reason. We are to be that light that calls out to the Lord, we are to be that light that waits on the Lord, we are to be the light that the world needs to see in these dark hours. Christian as the world presses in on you don’t let it overcome you and while we may feel woe is me we still have the God of peace to call on for when we call He will hear.
