Ps 116:1-7 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

Whom do you love today? As a pastor I have had occasion to counsel couples who have told me they don’t love each other anymore. I try and teach them that we choose who we love and that if they so choose they will love each other as they once did and then greater still. We do choose who to love and we do that most often when one gives us a reason to love them. No one has given you greater reason to love than Jesus has given you. Just consider the first seven verses of Psalm 116 and place yourself in the place of the psalmist. How many times have you called upon the Lord is distress and had God answer and deliver you? How many times have you had sorrow lifted from your shoulders? How many times have you received sweet rest and peace from the Lord? We have reason to love Him, reason to love the Lord. Whom do you choose to love today?
