Ps 111:9-10 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Many people claim not to be able to understand God. This is used as an excuse most of the time to avoid God or ignore God. The Bible tells me here that to have a good understanding of God I need to obey God. It is amazing how many things we don’t understand become clear when we obey, when we just trust and obey. Verse nine above gives us some eternal truths about God, verse ten tells us how to understand those truths. In order to understand we must first obey.
