2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
3 And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.

Ruth went and picked up what others missed when she was gleaning the fields. Because she was willing to take what was leftover she soon found herself receiving the first fruits of the fields as the wife of Boaz. Too many times we as Christians think we deserve the best all of the time instead of being willing to receive what God gives us. But if we are willing and faithful we will find ourselves rewarded by the Lord. The Bible tells us that He will give us the desires of our heart if we but put our faith and trust in Him. Ruth was rewarded for her faithfulness and willingness to work and serve and so will we be rewarded as well if we remain faithful and serving our wonderful Lord.
