Ex 16:21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.

It wasn’t the best time to gather manna, it was the only time to gather manna, early in the morning. We liken manna to the bread of life and to the Word of God. When is it best to read our Bible? I know that with work schedules it is impossible for some to read their Bible in the morning and that is understandable. But for most of us the morning is the best time. Why? Because we begin our day with the Lord, we begin our day by hearing from God, we begin our day with the one who can guide us through the day. I heard a preacher once say he didn’t need God at night when he went to bed, he needed God as he started his day. I may not agree with that completely but I do agree with his meaning. My day goes much better when I gather my manna in the morning. Other times throughout the day I will read my Bible and pray as well but the morning and my day goes much better when I gather the manna before I do anything else.
